Sara Salman is a filmmaker dedicated to storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices and challenges mainstream narratives. With over a decade of experience in broadcast and digital media, she brings a sharp editorial eye and a deep commitment to social impact.

Currently, as a hands-on film producer at AJ+, Sara leads stories from concept to completion, shaping narratives that resonate globally. Her expertise spans the entire production process, from research and scripting to directing and editing first cuts. Notably, she pitched, co-produced and translated “It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m Still Alive,” which earned an Emmy and a Peabody award.

Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, Sara’s multilingual skills have allowed her to work or report in different settings from Lebanon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malaysia, Qatar, and cities across the U.S.

She began her career in broadcast journalism at Al Jazeera in 2013 after graduating from Ohio University, building a body of work centered on representation and accountability.
